5 Reasons People Say ‘No’ to our Residential Cold Tubs

Feb 11, 2026 | Maintenance and Care for Residential Use Tubs, Residential Use

The demand for cold immersion at home is rising, but premium residential cold tubs still raise important questions for many homeowners.

We often hear the same questions and concerns that make homeowners pause before investing in a premium residential system.

We hear you, and want to share our wisdom and insight.

Here are the common reasons people tell us they don’t want to purchase one of our residential cold tubs, and what’s actually behind those decisions.

1. “The price is too high – I can get a cheaper option.”

This is the most common concern we hear.

Our cold tubs are priced higher because they are hand crafted, not mass-produced. Each tub is constructed using high-quality materials and assembled by hand in Newmarket, Ontario. We are not a drop-ship brand, and we don’t produce inflatable or temporary solutions.

Lower-cost alternatives often prioritize speed and price over longevity. Our residential cold tubs are designed to support a consistent cold immersion practice for years, with durability, reliability, and long-term performance at the core of every build.

When people compare our tubs to lower-cost alternatives, they’re often comparing fundamentally different products – not apples to apples ;).

2. “Too much maintenance.”

This is one of the biggest misconceptions we hear.

Our residential cold tubs are plug-and-play and designed to be straightforward to maintain. There’s no complicated process or constant upkeep required.

Water changes are simple, and in most residential settings, tubs can go months between changes, with proper care. Our design and filtration system do most of the work for you.

3. “It must use a lot of electricity.”

This concern comes up often – and it’s usually overestimated.

A properly designed residential cold tub does not consume excessive power. In fact, energy usage is comparable to everyday household appliances, such as a refrigerator, depending on usage and environment.

Efficient insulation and thoughtful system design make a significant difference, and that’s something we prioritize from the start.

4. “I want it now.”

We get it – in a world of instant delivery, waiting can feel frustrating.

However, our cold tubs are built from scratch, by hand. When custom work is involved, whether it’s finishes, dimensions, or integration into a larger residential project, that process takes time.

In many cases, we’re also coordinating with builders, designers, and approval timelines before fabrication even begins. Once those details and dimensions are confirmed, our build timeline is actually quite efficient – typically only a few weeks – the upfront planning and coordination is what ensures everything fits, functions, and performs as intended.

After fabrication, each tub is tested and prepped for delivery.

Speed is easy. Doing it right takes time.

5. “I don’t have enough space for one.”

This is a very common concern, especially in urban homes or projects with limited square footage.

In reality, space constraints are often a design challenge, not a deal breaker. Our residential cold tubs are fully customizable – from overall dimensions and depth to finishes and system layout – allowing them to be integrated into a wide range of spaces.

Whether the tub is being incorporated into a bathroom, home gym, outdoor area, or a more compact footprint, we work closely with homeowners, designers, and builders to ensure the system fits the space both functionally and aesthetically.

With proper planning and custom fabrication, a cold tub can be designed to work within the space you have – not the other way around.

The Bigger Picture

What these concerns often come down to is this: People aren’t just deciding whether to buy a cold tub – they’re deciding what level of quality, longevity, and support they want to live with.

Our residential cold tubs aren’t designed to be the fastest or cheapest option. They’re designed to be the right option for those who value craftsmanship, reliability, and long-term performance.

For our clients, that distinction matters.
